I wrote last week about my morning routine, so I thought I’d go ahead and share my evening one.
10:00 Clean the house – This could be dishes, stuff around the house etc. I find that going to bed with a clean house really helps my sanity.
10:30 Shower, moisturize – I’m a night showerer, and can’t figure out people who shower in the mornings. Washing off the day and going to bed clean is the only way to go IMO.
10:45 Meditate on my inversion table – I use the Iron Man to stretch out my back, shoulders, legs etc. It’s great for digestion and to reduce the pressure that a day behind a computer or desk puts on your spine. I meditate with the Headspace app. It’s a great way for people new to meditation (like me) to get started. I find that this 10 minute part of my day relaxes me immensely and clears my head for a restful night’s sleep.
11:00 Reading on my Kindle Voyage – This might be the best thing that I’ve purchased all year. I can’t ever imagine going back to reading a regular book. The Kindle is light enough to hold with one hand, has clear, consistent text, and, best of all, uses backlit e-ink so that you can read (even in the dark!) without the strain and blue light of a tablet or cell phone. I recommend them to all of my friends.
11:30 Lights out
Do you have an evening routine that you stick to? What are your keys to a good night’s sleep?
